Our Christmas light switch on and fireworks event is always very popular, and we’re already being inundated with requests for what’s happening! The event this year is on Sunday 19th November, here at Loch Lomond Shores. It’s a FREE* day of festive celebration from 10am-7pm with music, entertainment, activities for kids and fun fair rides, with the light switch on followed by a firework display and a night market with a taste of what will be on offer at our Christmas Market. Your Radio will be here to help get everyone into the Christmas spirit, and of course no Christmas event is complete without a visit from the guest of honour, Santa!
Doing a spot of shopping? There will be offers, sampling and promotions in some of our stores throughout the event – including a Lucky Dip with prizes of scarves and jewellery which you can enter with every purchase £10 or over at Misty Glen, and alcohol-free mulled wine at Grape Tree. There will also be some free treats given away in our shopping mall at varying times during the day.
Our friends at Loch Lomond Bird of Prey Centre will be celebrating our light switch on with us by offering HALF PRICE ENTRY from 10am-4pm this Sunday. So not only do you get to see all of the magnificent owls and birds of prey (including Orla the Golden Eagle), you can do it for half the usual price AND get some hot chocolate, too. Get more details from the Bird of Prey Centre, you’ll find their contacts here
As the event is free, we will be partnering with a local charity ROHHAD Association, who will be collecting on the day. Anything you can contribute would be very much appreciated. Find out more about ROHHAD here
Fancy a celebratory meal with the perfect fireworks vantage point? The Kilted Skirlie Restaurant will be running a special festive menu on 19th November, to tie in with the event. We strongly recommend booking a table in advance – call the restaurant on 01389 754759 and see the menu here.
Based on previous years, this is likely to be a very popular event, so – even though we have plenty of parking – we’d recommend you get here early to get a parking space and make the most of the day. On event days our car parks can sometimes take a little while to empty, due to the volume of traffic, so leave yourself plenty of time, and thank you for your patience.
Although the event is free to attend, and no ticket is required, there may be a cost for some of the activities. Santa’s grotto will not be open during this event – the grotto opens on 25 November, see more about Santa here.
The Christmas Market starts from 19th November – see more about the Christmas market here.
Not all activities are provided by Loch Lomond Shores, charges may apply and activities are subject to change.
Activities will be scheduled throughout the day, so not all activities will be available from 10am.
The schedule is indicative, and may change.
